Joe Evans talks bonding with new teammates, appreciation for Kelvin Bell
Joe Evans has been with the Iowa program for five seasons and is entering his sixth and final year with the Hawkeyes. He waited his turn through a redshirt season and back-to-back seasons with minimal snaps. Over the last two years, his role has turned into a mostly pass rushing defensive end, with 542 of his 943 (57.5%) snaps being categorized as pass rush snaps. Evans has racked up 75 tackles and 13.5 sacks over the last two seasons, including being graded as the top pass rusher on the Hawkeyes last season by PFF.
Evans met with the media on Tuesday to discuss bonding with some new teammates in California, what he is cherishing in his last year at Iowa (with a Nico Ragaini interjection), how much he has grown in his time at Iowa and his appreciation for Coach Kelvin Bell.
