Keegan Murray shines in NBA Summer League

Last year, Keegan Murray was named the MVP on the NBA Summer League. It’s unlikely that he will repeat with that honor because he isn’t expected to play in the Las Vegas portion of the schedule, however he looked fantastic in Sacramento’s California Classic win over Golden State.
Murray scored a game high 29 points in the Kings 100-94 win. According to their summer league coach, Luke Loucks, Murray has been displaying plenty of confidence in their scrimmages.
“Keegan just exploded in one of the scrimmages. He scored like 17 or 19 straight points. Everyone in the gym was almost like silent. Everyone could just feel how good he is. That something we expect from him in summer league and what we are expecting him to do,” Loucks said after the game.
The former Hawkeye is coming off an outstanding rookie campaign for the Kings. He earned first team All Rookie honors in the NBA after averaging 12.2 points per game and shooting 41.6% from three point range. He set an NBA rookie record for made three pointers with 206.
