It’s never good when you see your starting quarterback limp off the field. It’s particularly scary when you see them leave the field due to a non-contact injury. That was the feeling Kirk Ferentz had on Saturday afternoon when his starting quarterback, Cade McNamara, limped off the field and headed to the locker room during practice.

Thankfully for Iowa, it appears that McNamara didn’t suffer a knee injury, but it is a soft tissue issue that he will have to receive treatment for in the coming days. But, the injury isn’t expected to last long, with is good for Iowa football and the Hawkeye offense.

Following Kids Day practice, Ferentz spoke to the media about McNamara’s injury and his status moving forward. He also discusses if he’s concerned about Iowa’s offensive line play, he updates various nagging injuries on the roster and when those players could return, plus a whole lot more.
