Kris Murray excited to be headed to Portland
The wait was longer than he had hoped, but the outcome appears to be a perfect fit for Kris Murray as he begins his career in the National Basketball Association. On Thursday night he was surrounded by close friends and family at a hotel in Iowa City as he became a member of the Portland Trailblazers, who selected him 23rd in the first round of the draft.
His new home will be somewhat familiar and the star player for the Trailblazers is someone that Murray has actually met. Last August, Murray was invited to a camp held in Portland by Damian Lillard. He got meet the star player and also take what he learned and applied it on the court this past season at Iowa.
Murray talks about what the moment was like when he got drafted. If he thought that perhaps he might drop to Sacramento and end up back with his twin brother. He also talks about the Lillard camp and the emotions he felt all night along with his family.
