Leshon Williams to enter transfer portal
Shortly after Iowa wide receiver Kaleb Brown announced that he would be redshirting this year, running back Leshon Williams posted on social media that he would be ending his season and enter the NCAA transfer portal once the season is concluded. Williams did graduate this past spring from the University of Iowa.
Williams was Iowa’s leading rusher last season with 821 yards and an average of 4.8 yards per carry. However, this season he had battled a leg injury since spring football and into fall camp, so he was limited to just three games of action and only 21 yards rushing on 11 carries. With the emergence of Kaleb Johnson this season, playing time the rest of the way was going to be limited for Williams.

He rushed for 1323 yards in his Iowa career and scored three touchdowns. He also caught 27 passes for 172 yards and one touchdown. Iowa will still have plenty of depth at running back the rest of the season. Johnson will continue to be the lead back and his backups will be Jaziun Patterson and Kamari Moulton.
