It appears that Logan Jones will miss the Music City Bowl

When Logan Jones walked out of the practice locker room at the high school where the Iowa football team was practice on Thursday afternoon, his right hand immediately jumped out to reporters who were standing nearby.

Jones was sporting a cast on his right hand and was not in pads like the rest of his teammates, which signaled that in all likelihood, he will be sidelined for the 2024 Music City Bowl game against Missouri on December 30th.

While he did work on a few snaps with his left hand, the work being done with the quarterbacks and in the practice setting was with senior Tyler Elsbury at the center position. Iowa has not released an official statement regarding Jones and his status for the bowl game, but it appears very unlikely that he will be playing in the bowl game.

This season he earned first team All Big Ten honors according to the media and second team from the Big Ten coaches. Jones has started all 12 games at center for the Hawkeyes and helped Iowa lead the Big Ten with 199.8 yards rushing. The Hawkeyes also had eight games this season where the rushed for more than 200 yards on the ground.

This season, Elsbury played in all 12 games, starting a pair of those contests in place of Beau Stephens at guard. Last season he filled in for Jones at center, making one start against Nebraska, but playing the bulk of the snaps in two other contests.
