Luka Garza signs two-year deal with Minnesota

Luka Garza has found a home in the NBA. After bouncing around early on in his career, the former Hawkeye All American has settled in on the roster of the Minnesota Timberwolves. On Monday, ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Garza had signed a two-year deal with Minnesota.
This past year, Garza began his season as a two-way player and eventually became a full member of the Timberwolves roster. During the 2023-24 season, the former Iowa standout played in 25 games, averaging 4.0 points and 1.2 rebounds.
Garza has now played three seasons in the NBA. He played 32 games for Detroit in his rookie year, averaging 5.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in NBA games. Last year on a two-way deal, he played in 28 games for the Timberwolves, averaging 6.5 points and 2.3 rebounds.

During his Iowa career, Garza scored 2,306 points, leaving as the all-time leading scorer in men’s program history. He was also named national Player of the Year in his senior season and had his #55 retired by the University of Iowa.
