Moline duo Brock Harding and Owen Freeman meet with the media
It wasn’t long ago that Brock Harding and Owen Freeman were stepping on the court for the Illinois Class 4A state title game against Benet Academy in March. They won that game and now the duo moves on to Iowa to start their respective college careers.
Brock Harding was a three-star PG recruit by On3 Sports and had offers from solid mid-majors like Drake, Loyola Chicago, St Louis and Colorado State, but Iowa was his only high-major offer. Fran McCaffery is hoping he got a steal, as Harding was named Illinois Mr. Basketball after averaging 18.5 points and 5.6 assists for the Maroons.

His teammate three-star PF Owen Freeman committed to Iowa before his senior season and made the transfer from Bradley-Bourbonnais to Moline for his final year of high school basketball. He helped convince Brock to commit to Iowa and the two led the Maroons to a state title.
Harding and Freeman met with the media on Thursday to discuss their transition from high school to college, if they see themselves making an impact right away, why the overseas trip is a big help for them and more.
