Owen Freeman talks Big Ten Freshman of the Year honor
It’s been 30 years since Iowa basketball has someone honored by the Big Ten as the freshman of the year in the conference. That streak was broken on Tuesday when Hawkeye big man Owen Freeman was named Co-Freshman of the Year by the conference.
After the honor was announced on the Big Ten Network, Freeman met with the Iowa media to discuss what this honor means to him and who he credits for achieving at the level he did this season. He also talks about this future and how he expects his game to develop and the excitement of playing in his first Big Ten Tournament this week.
