Payton Sandfort hopes more students come to games
One of the great mysteries about Iowa men’s basketball these days is the lack of engagement with the student population. It’s certainly been a source of frustration for Hawkeye fans and also the players. On Tuesday, Payton Sandfort spoke towards the end of his session with the media about his hope that there would be a full house on Thursday evening when Iowa hosts Iowa State. He also hopes that they are able to make it, but hears from fellow students who say they watch, but don’t attend games.
He also discusses the challenge of facing Iowa State on Thursday and what it could mean to the Hawkeyes season longer term if they can pull the upset and the development of his brother, Pryce, this season.
