Payton Sandfort reflects on his time as a Hawkeye
It’s been quite a journey for Payton Sandfort. The Iowa wing had the unusual recruitment during a pandemic, which meant he never took an official visit to Iowa City, but four years later he’s wrapping up a terrific career as a Hawkeye.
Sandfort met with the media on Tuesday afternoon to discuss his journey at Iowa, which started with coming off the bench and being the sixth man of the year in the Big Ten Conference and wraps up with him leading the team as a starter in his senior season. He looks back at all the lessons that he learned, the impact he has had on the program the last four years, the hopes he had for his season, and being able to play with his younger brother the last two years.
