The Iowa Baseball team took to the diamond on Tuesday afternoon for their earliest home opener in program history. The Hawkeyes defeated Loras College 20-6 in a midweek contest to move to 3-1 on the young season. Raider Tello got things going in the first inning with a two-run home run, while a Michael Seegers three-run double kickstarted an eight-run second inning to make it 10-0. Kyle Huckstorf hit his third career grand slam to push the lead to 14-0 in the fourth inning. Reese Moore added the exclamation point, with an eighth inning two-run triple to cap off a three-hit day for himself. True freshman Elliot Cadieux-Lanoue pitched two scoreless innings in his first career start on the mound. Up next, the Hawkeyes will take on the Auburn Tigers on Friday at the Jax Baseball Classic in Florida.
