PHOTO GALLERY: Iowa defeats DePaul in 'Crossover at Kinnick'
The pregame festivities at Kinnick Stadium included the Hawk Walk past the Nile Kinnick statue, warmups on the court, walking out of the tunnel to Back in Black, fireworks and a flyover from a Boeing Stratotanker. Once all of the pregame hoopla subsided, the Iowa women’s basketball team defeat the DePaul Blue Demons 94-72 in a preseason exhibition in front of 55,646 fans.
The Hawkeyes got out to a 24-18 lead after the first quarter behind 11 points from Caitlin Clark. Addi O’Grady added five defensive rebounds in the opening ten minutes. Iowa opened the second quarter with a 10-3 run to push their lead to double digits and force a DePaul timeout. The Hawkeyes went into halftime with a 52-37 lead. Caitlin Clark shot 9/14 from the floor in the first half and went into the locker room with 24 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Addi O’Grady had eight points and seven assists, while Molly Davis added six points.

Midway through the third quarter, the Hawkeyes blew it open with a 17-4 run, including three-pointers from Caitlin Clark, Taylor McCabe and Molly Davis. That pushed the lead to 74-46. The Blue Demons did put the pressure on in the fourth quarter, as they scored 15 in a row to start the fourth quarter, but the Hawkeyes outscored DePaul 17-6 the rest of the way to finish off the victory. Caitlin Clark finished with a triple-double 34 points, 11 rebounds and ten assists. Addi O’Grady finished with a double-double ten points and 14 rebounds, while Molly Davis added 13 points and five rebounds. Hannah Stuelke (12 pts) and Kate Martin (11 pts, 8 reb) also scored in double figures.
