Coming off a loss against #2 North Carolina on Sunday, the sixth-ranked Iowa Field Hockey team came into Friday looking for a bounce back win over MAC favorite Miami Ohio. The Hawkeyes scored a pair of goals in the span of 70 seconds in the third quarter to pick up a win over the perennial NCAA Tournament participant Redhawks.

In the 35th minute, forward Dionne van Aalsum got Iowa on the board with a goal on a penalty corner, while midfielder Lieve van Kessel scored just over a minute later on a feed from teammate Miranda Jackson. It’s the quickest that Iowa has scored two goals since they scored twice in the span of 33 seconds against Merrimack last season.

HawkeyeReport.com photographer Dennis Scheidt was at Grant Field on Friday to capture some photos of the action. The Hawkeyes will face the New Hampshire Wildcats at Grant Field next Friday.
