The Iowa Women’s Basketball team was back on the court last night for a matchup against in-state rival Drake at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Coming off of a loss against Kansas State, the Hawkeyes were looking for a bounce back performance. They did just that, as they defeated the Bulldogs 113-90.
It was a furious scoring pace from the moment the ball was tipped and Drake held a 16-14 lead after just 4.5 minutes. A 9-0 run from the Hawkeyes gave them the lead and they never looked back. In fact, they put up a school record 64 points in the first half. Caitlin Clark finished with a double-double 35 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and seven steals. She broke the NCAA record for most 30-point games in a career with 39. Kate Martin scored a career-high 25 points, while Sharon Goodman put up 15 points on 7/11 shooting. Molly Davis added 11 points and has been in double figures for back-to-back games.
