Play-by-play recap: Iowa 8 Washington 0
After dropping the first two games of the weekend in walk off fashion, the series finale in Seattle became the biggest game of the season for Iowa. When they needed it most, Rick Heller’s squad came through and took care of business. Reece Beuter was fantastic, tossing 7.0 scoreless innings and the Hawkeyes picked up an 8-0 shutout win to salvage the series with the Huskies.
With the win, the Hawkeyes move to 32-15 and 21-6 in Big Ten play. Iowa will finish the conference season in the final week of the season, hosting Oregon for a three-game series at Duane Banks Field (May 15-17).
