HawkeyeReport polled the fanbase to get their thoughts on the upcoming women's hoops season.

The Iowa Women’s Hoops season is upon us and it’s time to start making some predictions. While my season prediction article will be out on Monday, I decided to poll the fanbase on Twitter to get their feelings on the upcoming season. Where will the Hawkeyes finish in the Big Ten? How many wins will they have? How far will they make it in the NCAA Tournament? You guys voted and I gathered the results.

1. Where will the Hawkeyes finish in the Big Ten Standings?

The Hawkeyes did not appear in the top five of the preseason Big Ten media or coaches’ poll, with USC, UCLA, Ohio State, Maryland and Indiana earning the honors. Iowa has finished in the top five in seven of the last ten seasons, with all seven being top three finishes.

2. Which record is closest to a realistic expectation for the Hawkeyes in year one under head coach Jan Jensen?

With some much turnover within the program, including the retirement of Lisa Bluder and the departure of Caitlin Clark to the WNBA, this has been a hot topic. What can we expect from the Hawkeyes under first year head coach Jan Jensen?

Iowa has won 20+ games in each of the last eight seasons and in 15 of the last 17 seasons. According to the ESPN preseason Bracketology projection, the Hawkeyes will have 13 games against projected NCAA Tournament teams, as well as a game against Washington State (Next Four Out).

3. What are the NCAA Tournament expectations in year one under head coach Jan Jensen?

The Hawkeyes have been at the pinnacle of the sport the past two seasons, with back-to-back national title game appearances. With four new starters, a third consecutive Final Four is likely not in the cards for this season, but they are still expected to make the NCAA Tournament. Iowa has made the tournament in six straight seasons that one was held, including four trips to the Sweet Sixteen or further.
