QB transfer Hank Brown headed to Iowa
Quarterback Hank Brown is headed to the University of Iowa. The 6-foot-4, 208-pound Auburn transfer announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes today after visiting the campus in Iowa City this week.
Brown will join the team in January and comes in with three years of eligibility remaining. At Auburn, he started two games as a redshirt freshman this past season and finished the year 27/43 passing (62.8%) for 403 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Brown also played in one game as a true freshman, which was the 2023 Music City Bowl, and completed 7/9 pass attempts (77.8%) for 132 yards.
Originally from Wheaton, Illinois, Brown and his family moved to Nashville during his junior year of high school where he attended Lipscomb Academy and played for head coach Trent Dilfer. As a senior, he completed 73.3% of his passes for 3,264 yards and 47 touchdowns in leading the team to a 13-0 record and a state championship in 2022. After originally committing to Liberty, he made a late switch to Auburn, following head coach Hugh Freeze, and also earned scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Illinois, Minnesota, and UAB during the recruiting process the first time around.
