RB Braeden Jackson makes college decision
Ankeny Centennial running back Braeden Jackson has made his college decision. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect, whose father Fred Jackson played for the Buffalo Bills, announced today that he is going to be a Hawkeye after accepting a preferred walk-on opportunity from the Iowa coaching staff.
“I made the decision to commit to Iowa because I felt like it was the perfect program for me,” Jackson told HawkeyeReport.com. “I’ve built a great relationship with the coaches throughout my visits and recruiting process. They have constantly expressed their interest in me. I feel like the program cannot only make me a better player, but also a better man. I have heard so many good things about the players in the locker room and it’s an environment that I want to be a part of. It honestly really just feels like home, and I can’t wait to spend the next 3-5 years as an Iowa Hawkeye.”
As a senior, Jackson put up big numbers for Centennial, finishing the season with 173 carries for 1,397 yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground. He also had 19 catches for 288 yards and three touchdowns receiving as well as 274 return yards and two touchdowns on special teams.
