Tony Perkins plays with a heavy heart
It has been a tough week for Tony Perkins. The senior guard lost his grandmother on Monday. As Perkins said, she was a rock in his life and always there for him as he developed his basketball skills in his younger days. He lost her on Monday and never gave any thought to not playing on Wednesday because she would have been disappointed if he didn’t take the court.
The result was a 21 point scoring performance and a fast start for the Iowa guard. He talks about how he felt like she was with him right from the start when he opened the game making a three pointer. He also talks about her influence on him in his younger years and the impact she had in his life.
