Top ranked kicker Scott Starzyk makes college decision
Kicker Scott Starzyk has made his college decision. The 5-foot-9, 172-pound Texas native, ranked No. 1 in the country by Kohl’s Kicking, has verbally committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
“It’s an opportunity to play on some of the biggest stages while being coached by one of the best special teams coordinators in the business,” Starzyk told HawkeyeReport.com.
Starzyk, whose lead recruiter was LeVar Woods, appreciates the importance the Hawkeye football program places on its special teams and the stability of the coaching staff.
“I like how detailed Coach Woods is with the specialists and every decision that he makes,” said Starzyk. “Also, the consistency within the program due to Coach Ferentz’s long tenure as head coach.”
