Tory Taylor named to Guy Award Watch List
For the past three years, Tory Taylor has been one of the top punters in college football. What has alluded the native of Australia is the national awards that he probably deserves.
We will see if the fourth time is the charm for the talented punter as he begins his senior year by being placed on the Ray Guy Award Watch List. This is the third time that the Hawkeye punter from down under has been on the preseason watch list. He has also been selected as a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award semifinalist twice in his career.
For his career, Taylor has averaged 45.4 yards per punt. He has punted 202 times in his Iowa career with 47% landing inside the 20 yard line.
In his first year at Iowa, Taylor was named punter of the year in the Big Ten and earned first team All Big Ten honors. He was also a freshman All American according to the Football Writers Association and second team All American by The Athletic.
