Trevin Jirak always wanted to a Hawkeye

Trevin Jirak grew up a huge Hawkeye fan. The Des Moines big man always dreamed of playing for Iowa, but under Fran McCaffery it didn’t see like it was going to happen. The center prospect ended up signing with Northern Iowa and was all set to join the Panthers after his senior year. Then Ben McCollum took the Iowa job and fairly quickly, Jirak asked out of his letter of intent and quickly agreed to do what he dreamed about and play at the University of Iowa.
Jirak met with the media on Tuesday and spoke about the process of eventually getting to Iowa and what kind of a role that he might be able to find with the Hawkeyes this season.
