In the midst of their first two-game losing streak in Big Ten play since 2021, it’s gut-check time for the Hawkeyes ahead of Sunday’s home contest against Indiana. Iowa led for the majority of the first half against Illinois, but allowed the Illini to take control of the game with an 18-4 run over the span of nine minutes in the second and third quarter. Upon returning to Iowa City, the focus has changed to correcting what went wrong against Illinois and preparing for their game against the Hoosiers.

We spoke with assistant coach Raina Harmon about who to turn to for vocal leadership at this time, the challenges with finding the right lineup combinations, what was discussed on the bus ride home from Champaign and more.
