WATCH: Fran McCaffery, Hawkeyes recap their win over USC Upstate
Coming off of a loss to Utah State and with Thanksgiving days away, the Iowa men’s basketball game looked dialed in from the start in their 110-77 win over USC Upstate. The Hawkeyes jumped out to a 14-0 lead, with ten of those points going to Owen Freeman. They led 55-28 at the half and rolled to a comfortable win. Brock Harding led the way with a double-double, 20 points and ten rebounds.
Head Coach Fran McCaffery spoke about going to Owen Freeman early in the game, how he has seen Brock Harding progress, Riley Mulvey’s performance and how injuries have impacted things early in the season.
We also got to speak with Brock Harding and Riley Mulvey. Harding spoke about the team’s ability to stay locked in for a ‘trap game’, his confidence as of late, and how the team was able to bounce back after the loss to Utah State. Mulvey talked about getting real minutes early in the game, when he found out he’d be playing and what his journey has been like.
