WATCH: Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes discuss their loss to Illinois
Turnovers, defensive breaks and poor free throw shooting sunk the Hawkeyes on Thursday night in Champaign. Iowa’s 62-57 loss to Illinois drops them to 2-3 in Big Ten play, while it is their first time losing back-to-back conference games since Caitlin Clark’s freshman year.
Head coach Jan Jensen spoke with the media after the loss, discussing the decision to put Aaliyah Guyton into the starting lineup, what the cause is for some of the inconsistency on the offensive end of the floor and needing senior leadership to emerge in the coming games.
We also got to talk with Lucy Olsen and Hannah Stuelke after the game. They shared their thoughts on the loss and what needs to happen going forward.
