In a game that the Hawkeyes really needed for a plethora of reasons, free throwing shooting woes down the stretch allowed Nebraska to force overtime. The Huskers took control early in the overtime period and walked out of Carver-Hawkeye Arena with an 87-84 victory. Iowa falls to 12-6 on the season and 2-5 in Big Ten play. It’s their first time dropping three straight home games since the 2012-13 season.

Head coach Jan Jensen met with the media after the game, discussing what positives she took from the loss, the poor free throw shooting and who is stepping up in a leadership role at this time. She also spoke about the balance between holding the team accountable, while also keeping the positivity up during the losing streak.

We also got to speak with Hannah Stuelke and Syd Affolter after the loss. Stuelke spoke about her play at center and what it did for the offense, while Affolter discussed what’s next for the team as the try to turn the season around.
