The vibes are high within the Iowa women’s basketball program right now. The Hawkeyes are 5-0 for the first time since 2017, but it’s clear, talking to the team that they are focused on getting better every single day. Soon, the schedule will ramp up with Tennessee, Iowa State and many others in Big Ten play.

Head coach Jan Jensen met with the media on Friday morning to discuss their undefeated start, how Hannah Stuelke has adjusted to playing power forward and give an update on the status of Aaliyah Guyton. She also previewed their upcoming matchup against Washington State.

We also spoke with freshman Taylor Stremlow and Ava Heiden, hearing how they have adjusted to college basketball. Stremlow talked about the cohesion of the group this early in the year, while Heiden discussed her progression as a center.
