The Hawkeyes are set to travel to Champaign for a matchup against the Illinois Fighting Illini on Thursday night. Last time Iowa made the trip to the State Farm Center, they were upset by Shauna Green’s squad, and the Illini will be looking for a repeat performance. It was an interesting media availability at Carver-Hawkeye Arena Wednesday, with the real news being hints of a potential change in the starting lineup.
Head coach Jan Jensen met with the media on Wednesday morning, discussing the Hawkeyes response in practice after the loss to Maryland, the potential for a lineup changes and how she’s worked through finding the right lineup combinations. She also previewed the Hawkeyes matchup against Illinois.
We also got to speak with freshmen Taylor Stremlow and Ava Heiden. They spoke about their experiences as true freshmen navigating through their first few Big Ten games and the response from the team after the loss to Maryland, while Heiden previewed her matchup against the Illinois post players, including dropping a hint about a possible lineup change.
