WATCH: Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes preview Maryland
As tough as the Hawkeyes non-conference slate was at times, the opportunity awaiting them on Sunday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena outweighs all of their previous games this season. The 8th-ranked Maryland Terrapins will visit Iowa City, with a chance for Iowa to secure a marquee victory that would help, not only in the Big Ten standings, but down the road when it’s time for the NCAA Tournament.
Head coach Jan Jensen met with the media on Friday to discuss the variation of players stepping up to help them win, the importance of Sunday’s game, what she has seen from Taylor McCabe and if there will be a lineup change made. She also gave her thoughts on why Brenda Frese has been so successful building her team around transfers.
We also got to speak with Taylor McCabe about her recent performances and how she has excelled on both ends of the floor as of late. Meanwhile, Syd Affolter spoke about the importance of Sunday’s game, honoring Lisa Bluder and how she continues to affect the game in other areas while her offense comes around.
