WATCH: Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes preview Northern Iowa
When the Hawkeyes and the Panthers take the floor tomorrow night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the mythical “Iowa State Championship” will be on the line. Iowa is looking to win it for the third straight season, while UNI is looking to take down both of the big dogs in the state, already notching a win over Iowa State. Coming off of a loss to Michigan State, the Hawkeyes are focused on finishing the non-conference slate strong and going into the Christmas break with some good momentum.
Jan Jensen met with the media on Thursday morning to discuss their ongoing work facing defensive pressure, the emphasis placed on facing the in-state schools, what makes Northern Iowa a challenging opponent, and more.
We also got to speak with Lucy Olsen and Hannah Stuelke as they finish up finals week. Hannah spoke about her improvement from the free-throw line, the importance of the in-state games and how she is feeling health wise after 11 games. Lucy spoke about how she has integrated herself at Iowa, why a win before the break is so important, and what makes the UNI guards a tough matchup.
