WATCH: Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes preview USC, Caitlin Clark jersey retirement
A gigantic opportunity sits in front of the Hawkeyes (14-7, 4-6) on Sunday afternoon. The fourth-ranked USC Trojans (19-1, 9-0) come to town, but will be facing the most raucous environment of the season, with Caitlin Clark’s jersey retirement ceremony set to take place after the game. However, prior to the highly anticipated postgame festivities, Iowa will look to pull off a major upset win that would vault them off of their current position on the NCAA Tournament bubble.
Head coach Jan Jensen met with the media on Friday afternoon, discussing what stands out USC on the stat sheet, if there are any plans to change the starting lineup and how they’ve drawn from different sources for the Juju Watkins gameplan. She also spoke plenty about Caitlin Clark and her jersey retirement that will follow the game.
We also got to speak with Syd Affolter and Kylie Feuerbach. They spoke about the opportunity that presents itself facing USC and the challenges the Trojans present on both ends of the floor, as well as their thoughts on their former teammate getting her jersey retired after the game.
