The Iowa women’s basketball team came out of the gates a little slow on Sunday and trailed Washington State 19-18 after the opening quarter. However, the Hawkeyes turned on the jets and used another impressive defensive night to roll to a 72-43 win over the Cougars. Iowa has won all six games of the Jan Jensen era by double digits, with trip to Mexico for the Cancun Challenge on the horizon.

Head coach Jan Jensen met with the media after the game to discuss the win, including her thoughts on the defensive effort, trying to find what rotations work well together, getting Aaliyah Guyton her first game action and more.

We also got to speak with Lucy Olsen and Taylor Stremlow after the game to get their thoughts on the win. Olsen finished with a team-high 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Stremlow added five points, six rebounds and two assists.
