WATCH: Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes talk Tennessee loss, preview Iowa State
Coming off their first loss of the season on Saturday, the Iowa women’s basketball team is focused on resetting and refocusing ahead of their yearly in-state meeting against Iowa State on Wednesday. Head coach Jan Jensen and a couple of players met with the media on Monday morning to discuss the loss to Tennessee and what’s ahead with the Cyclones coming to Iowa City.
Jan Jensen reflected on the loss to Tennessee, discussing the turnover situation, the play of Lucy Olsen, and why she didn’t go with freshman ball handlers down the stretch. She also spoke about the upcoming Cy-Hawk game, including her respect for Audi Crooks and the ISU coaching staff.
We also got to speak with Syd Affolter and Teagan Mallegni to get their thoughts on things. Affolter spoke about playing without Caitlin Clark and how she feels she needs to be more aggressive on offense. Mallegni discussed preparing for her first Cy-Hawk game and what it’s been like getting opportunities to play as a freshman.
