The Hawkeyes 92-57 win over upset-minded Murray State wasn’t quite smooth sailing from the start. Foul trouble in the first half put a couple players on the bench for stretches and the Racers kept the game as close as 35-30 with 90 seconds to play in the second quarter. A late 7-0 run put Iowa up 42-30 at the half, while 30-10 third quarter sent the Hawkeyes rolling into the second round.
HawkeyeReport caught up with Lucy Olsen, Syd Affolter and Kylie Feuerbach after the game was over to get their thoughts on the win. Olsen finished with a double-double 12 points and 12 assists, while Syd Affolter added 11 points and eight rebounds. Feuerbach chipped in eight points, including a pair of made threes.
