Xavier Nwankpa facing familiar foes
When he was a kid, Xavier Nwankpa grew up watching Iowa State football. His father was a track athlete for the Cyclones, so it was natural that his ties as a kid were to Iowa State. But, once he reached high school and Iowa started to recruit him to play football for the Hawkeyes, things changed. Now he’s a Hawkeye and his father is supporting him in the stands.
But, that’s not all when it comes to Nwankpa and his ties to Iowa State. He has several former teammates and friends who are on the Cyclone football program, including one that he may have to tackle more than once on Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium.
