Xavier Williams makes college decision
Class of 2024 running back Xavier Williams has made his college decision. The 6-foot-0, 225-pound Indiana native announced his verbal commitment to the Iowa Hawkeyes today.
Williams, who visited Iowa City in March, chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Northern Illinois, Kent State, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Ball State, Bowling Green, Toledo, Miami-OH, and Old Dominion.
“I really like the staff and their coaching style,” Williams told HawkeyeReport.com. “I have a good relationship with my position coach (Ladell Betts) and it just felt like the right fit. I’m very excited.”
As a junior, Williams rushed for 1,475 yards and 15 touchdowns for Lake Central High School in St. John, IN, showing a good blend of power and quickness that should fit in well at Iowa.
