Ashton Moore discusses Kansas State commitment
Kansas State has been red hot on the recruiting trail as of late. Since June 9, K-State has secured 12 commitments in the 2025 class after having three going into the month of June.
The most recent Wildcat commit was Louisburg, Kansas linebacker Ashton Moore. The rising senior made his decision to commit to Kansas State on July 10th.
“For me it was really the connection to the coaches,” Moore began. “I’ve already built great relationships with them and I trust them to develop me into the best player and person I can be.”
Despite announcing his commitment recently, it was a long time coming between the Sunflower State product and K-State.
“I had my mind made up for a long time before I committed, but to finally announce it was an amazing feeling,” he shared. “There was a huge sense of relief knowing I accomplished my goal of playing there.”

Kansas State linebackers coach Steve Stanard was one of the reasons Moore committed to K-State.
“Knowing Coach Stanard helped make my decision a lot easier,” he pointed out. “I’ve known him for a long time, so I know what type of coach he is and I think he’ll bring out the best in me.”
The linebacker’s older brother, Austin Moore, is going into his sixth season for the Wildcats as a linebacker. The league’s coaches named the older Moore Second Team All-Big 12 last season. Having his brother already in the program was beneficial to the younger Moore.
“Watching Austin play at K-State is really what made me fall in love with the school,” he concluded. “Knowing his story from his lack of high school recruitment, to the success he is having today made me gain so much respect for the coaching staff. The coaches gave him a chance when no one else did and I’m grateful to know I’ll have that same opportunity.”
