Buzz: Not as bleak as it looked for Kansas State
Our Kansas State buzz comes via a message board post at KSO and digs into all sorts of relevant topics in Wildcat land. It’s time to assess the Wildcats being drubbed by BYU 38-9 in Provo. We can’t put it off any longer.
Even in losses, even in the convincing ones, we dig into the weeds of the game after a few different re-watches of the contest. We want to see who stands out the most for K-State. I skipped the offense this week. They weren’t good enough to be decorated at all, to be honest.
But two standouts on defense emerged in week four.

K-State was dropped by 29 points at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The Cougars defeated them by four scores. Coincidentally enough, BYU had two non-offensive touchdowns and another two scores where they only had to navigate a short field of less than 30 yards because of Wildcat turnovers.

While I thought one of the best Kansas State position groups this season would be the secondary, it has yet to remotely come close to unfolding in that fashion. There’s an argument, and a good one, that it has been the poorest group on that side of the ball.
I dig into some of the problems.
