Columbia, Missouri guard Exavier Wilson picks Kansas State over West Virginia

Kansas State has landed its second high school basketball commit of the 2025 recruiting class in as many days. Father Tolton point guard Exavier Wilson has committed to K-State and picked the Wildcats over West Virginia.
The announcement from Wilson comes on the heels of an official visit to Kansas State. He was in Manhattan over the weekend for the home contest versus Colorado. Wilson was joined in The Little Apple by Mississippi wing Ashton Magee (who already made his announcement).
Wilson’s recruitment was a bit of a sprint. The K-State coaching staff made a trip to Columbia to watch the guard play February 27, offered him February 28 and quickly scheduled the official visit that led to his college choice.
Like Magee, the Missouri native’s recruitment was starting to blow up a bit during his senior season.
West Virginia, Southern Indiana and FIU all have offered the senior guard in the last two months. Missouri was showing interest as well. Wilson even visited Missouri for the Tigers’ home contest versus Alabama not long ago.

Overall, Wilson also held offers from Austin Peay, Bradley, Bryant, East Tennessee State, Jacksonville, Missouri State, Murray State, SIU-Edwardsville, Saint Louis, Southern Illinois, UT-Rio Grande Valley and UT-Arlington in addition to Southern Indiana, FIU, West Virginia and the Wildcats.
An interesting tie between Wilson and Kansas State is his AAU team MoKan Elite. K-State assistant coach Rodney Perry was the head coach and co-founder of MoKan Elite. Perry was involved with the AAU club from 2006-2016 and again from 2018-2022 before joining the staff for the Wildcats.
Perry’s connection along with Jerome Tang led to Wilson picking K-State.
In total, Wilson is actually commitment No. 3 for Kansas State in the 2025 recruiting class. He joins a class of Memphis transfer wing commit Tyreek Smith and Magee. Of course, Smith is already in Manhattan and has been practicing and traveling with the team while redshirting this season after coming in at semester.
