Cornerback JoJo Scott sets up an official visit to Kansas State
Kansas State has dipped into Florida a bit more recently under Chris Klieman. In the 2023 class, K-State secured the services of Joe Jackson, Devin Vass and Jayce Brown. While the Wildcats did not land a Sunshine State native in the 2024 cycle, there are a few major targets for 2025 like Graceson Littleton.
Though Littleton will be an uphill climb for Kansas State, another 2025 prospect from the same state to keep in mind is Lakeland cornerback JoJo Scott. Kansas State offered him February 2 and an official visit has been schedule for June 14.
“It was an amazing offer,” Scott said. “It was truly a blessing. I had an amazing conversation with Coach [Van] Malone. And he’s an amazing coach that can teach me a lot of things too and help me become a great defensive back. And it was just an amazing moment.”
The bond between Scott and Malone contributed to how special it felt for him.
“Our relationship is good,” Scott shared. “I text him a lot, actually. We’re just trying to build a better relationship. He’s a great guy and even a better coach.”
Scott is still in the process of learning more about K-State.
“I really don’t know a lot, but I’ve seen a lot,” he pointed out. “I watched a few games this year and K-State is a beautiful school.”

A few schools have come to the forefront of his recruitment, including Kansas State.
“Liberty, K-State, Kansas, NC State and USF are standing out,” Scott revealed. “The conversation I’ve had with the coaching staff and how the teams did last year have made them stand out.”
Scott is still working on a commitment timeline, but he knows what he is looking for in a school.
“Somewhere good for me academically,” he concluded. “When I take an official visit I want to get to know the people on the team so I can see how the culture is.”
Not only will he be in Manhattan for an official visit to Kansas State on June 14, he has a trip scheduled to Kansas on June 21.
