Five commits in five days? Yes, for Kansas State. They landed Butler Community College defensive tackle Malcolm Alcorn-Crowder, following up four prior days of commitments from transfer running back Dylan Edwards, linebacker Weston Polk and hooper transfers Baye Fall and Brendan Hausen.

Offseason football additions for K-State now include Alcorn-Crowder, Edwards, offensive lineman Easton Kilty, receiver Dante Cephas, safety Jordan Riley and defensive lineman Travis Bates. That is a tremendous haul by Chris Klieman and the Wildcats, and they’re not finished.

It’s reasonable to expect Kilty and Riley to be starters for sure. Edwards will get a number of touches reflective of a starter and share the backfield load with DJ Giddens. Cephas and Bates will play a lot. The same could be true of Alcorn-Crowder on the interior of the Kansas State defensive line.

His recruitment has been a bit of a journey and whirlwind. But to be clear, the only school he has committed to is K-State. He just had to do it on two separate occasions because of the process of getting academically qualified.

Banks picked Kansas State in the Winter over other options like Florida and Cincinnati. He is a four-star prospect according to the On3 rankings and the No. 4 junior college recruit overall for his class. Simply put, he was highly-touted and a win over other Power Four programs.

KSO shared the news yesterday that his return to the program was in the cards, but he announced the news via social media on Tuesday. It is a huge development for the Wildcats. The loss of Jevon Banks exacerbated how thin they were in the middle of the defensive line.
