Kansas State has yet to host a transfer visitor on campus for an official visit since the season ended, but that is about to change. KSO has confirmed that Oral Roberts guard transfer Max Abmas will be at K-State this weekend for an official visit.

Very little about his recruitment has leaked out since choosing to enter the transfer portal after four years with the Golden Eagles, other than the obvious interest from many of the nation’s best programs, including Kansas State.

He elected to leave the program soon after it was announced that head coach Paul Mills was leaving to take the Wichita State head coaching position. Mills worked with K-State head coach Jerome Tang at Baylor under Scott Drew.

Tang and Kansas State have pursued Abmas ever since he became available, along with a few other guards, and K-State is heavily in consideration for his services. It will be the first visit that Abmas has taken thus far.

He is a two-time Summit League Player of the Year and was the nation’s leading scorer during the 2020-2021 season. He averaged 24.5 points per game in that record-setting season at Oral Roberts before averaging over 20 points per game the next two years.

Abmas averaged 25 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals per game his sophomore year, 23 points, four assists, three rebounds and one steal his junior season and recently 22 points, four assists and four rebonds in his final season at Oral Roberts.
