Kansas State is familiar with taking junior college prospects in the past. Nae’Quan Tomlin went to Chipola College before coming to K-State. Even Tylor Perry began his collegiate career in the junior college ranks before going to North Texas and eventually landing with the Wildcats.
Overall Ikegwuruka is the sixth addition to the Kansas State roster this offseason. He joins former Michigan guard Dug McDaniel, former UIC guard CJ Jones, former Villanova guard Brendan Hausen, former Arkansas big Baye Fall, and former Cal State Fullerton guard Max Jones. Kansas State now has just three scholarship spots remaining on the roster.
The Ireland native has not yet been ranked by On3. Ikegwuruka will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
