Junior College safety Daniel Cobbs commits to Kansas State

Kansas State is not finished in the 2023 football recruiting class. They struck again with the addition of Tyler Junior College safety Daniel Cobbs. He announced that he committed to K-State via his Twitter account.
Cobbs’ verbal pledge comes on the heels of his official visit in Manhattan. In fact, he hadn’t even made it home before he made his college choice. After sharing his intentions with the Kansas State coaches, he let the world know as well.
His official visit to K-State actually began without an offer. The Fort Worth native was not the only official visitor on campus, either. Remember to keep it locked at KSO for the most up-to-date K-State recruiting information.
Kansas State has had a lot of success at Tyler Junior College in the last two classes.
Last year, Kobe Savage, Justice Clemons and Gavin Forsha were all added from Tyler by K-State. Savage had a breakout campaign in 2022 and was named an All-Big-12 second team choice by the coaches.
Clemons was injured in 2022 and Forsha played in nine games before transferring when the portal window opened.

Cobbs also held offers from Texas State, Old Dominion, Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe. The sophomore safety visited the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech on January 29. However, he dug in and waited out the process.
Safety was an area of need for Kansas State. It is a position that is down three players who were major contributors in 2022 in Josh Hayes, Drake Cheatum and Cincere Mason. Hayes was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the sixth round of the NFL Draft last month.
K-State was also without Savage in the Spring due to a knee injury he suffered against Baylor at the end of last season.
Cobbs is commitment No. 31 in total for the Kansas State 2023 class and fourth junior college addition. The first three were cornerback Will Lee and linebackers Terry Kirksey of Hutchinson Community College and linebacker Rex Van Wyhe of Iowa Central Community College.
Those three were all on campus for spring ball the past few months.
Cobbs will have four years available to play three seasons.
