Kansas State adds first 2026 commit Brandon Ford
After a busy weekend on the recruiting trail with visitors, Kansas State has struck on October 28th. It comes from the 2026 class in Crowley, Texas corner Brandon Ford.
Ford was one of many visitors on hand for the 2024 edition of the Sunflower Showdown. It was his first time in Manhattan and exceeded his expectations. The Texan told KSO the visit was his best visit of the fall so far in a list that included SMU, Houston, Texas Tech and Texas A&M.
A major hat tip goes to Kansas State cornerbacks coach Van Malone for the addition of Ford. He was a mainstay in the juniors recruitment and made him a very big priority early on leading to the juniors commitment. His relationship with his future position coach led to the junior deciding to shut down his recruitment after being in Manhattan over the weekend.

K-State has a long history of recruiting Texas well and the Crowley native adds to a long lineage of Lone Star State natives to commit to the Wildcats. The 2025 class has seen Kansas State add Dalton Knapp, Brad Stanyer and Weston Polk. If history serves, Ford will likely not be the last Texan to join the 2026 class.
In total, the junior held offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Buffalo, Colorado State, Houston, Nebraska, North Texas, Pittsburgh, SMU, Texas State, Texas Tech, UTEP, UTSA and Washington State. Ford is commitment No. 1 for Kansas State in the 2026 class. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, the Texan is ranked No. 654 in the country, No. 51 cornerback and No. 80 player in the state of Texas.
