Kansas State adds Junior College corner William Lee
Kansas State is back on the board in the 2023 class with the addition of Iowa Western Community College cornerback William Lee. For those that do not remember, he took an official visit to K-State over the Summer months while still committed to Oregon State.
Despite that initial verbal pledge to the Beavers from the Pac-12, he de-committed in October after various other offers. In fact, he took official visits to a few other programs as well. Anyone would want a 6-foot-3 cornerback that can run like Lee.
KSO’s Derek Young has compared him to current Kansas State cornerback Julius Brents.
At one point, it looked like the newest Wildcat was a slam dunk for K-State after his trip to Manhattan in July. Despite giving the Kansas State coaches some strong assurances on that visit, he remained thorough and picked up offers from Florida State and Iowa as well.
In addition to the Wildcats, Hawkeyes, Seminoles and Oregon State, Lee held offers from UConn, East Carolina, Hawaii, Louisiana, Middle Tennessee, UAB and UTSA. With the busy recruiting season upon us, more Power Five opportunities were about to come his way, too.

It was wise for K-State coaches Van Malone, Joe Klanderman, Conor Riley, Chris Klieman and company to seal the deal when they did considering that detail. He was about to become a lot more popular on the recruiting trail if he waited any longer.
The St. Louis native was a first team All-Conference selection this season for the Reivers. He plays for legendary head coach Scott Strohmeier at Iowa Western in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Strohmeier has a great relationship with both Riley and Klieman.
Lee is commitment No. 22 for Kansas State in the 2023 class and the first junior college addition, but he won’t be the last. He is also the fourth K-State cornerback in the class and joins prep players Donovan McIntosh, Kanijal Thomas and RJ Lester.
Lee will arrive Manhattan in January with three years of eligibility remaining.
