Kansas State has added another transfer with the addition of Mississippi State nose guard Jevon Banks.

His commitment to K-State comes on the heels of his official visit in Manhattan and is the second transfer portal addition for the Wildcats this week. The first was Florida State running back Treshaun Ward.

It came together quickly for the two sides, with Banks receiving an offer from Kansas State on January 9. That was not long after he chose to enter the transfer portal. It was also not long after K-State swung and missed on a visit from Justin Kirkland of Utah Tech, who committed to Oklahoma State.

Banks played in 10 games for the Bulldogs in 2022 and recorded 17 tackles, two tackles for a loss and 0.5 sacks. In his Mississippi State career, he played in 20 games and logged 26 tackles and four tackles for a loss.

He is a Mississippi native will join a position group that also includes Uso Seumalo, Damian Ilalio and 2023 signee Asher Tomaszewski. He and Tomaszewski are the lone additions for Kansas State at the position in the offseason.

It was a primary position of need for K-State after the season, along with the running back spot, because of the losses of Robert Hentz and Eli Huggins. Both had their eligibilities expire after the Big 12 championship season.

Banks is the fourth transfer portal addition for Kansas State this cycle and joins Iowa wide receiver transfer Keagan Johnson, North Dakota State safety transfer Marques Sigle and the previously mentioned Ward.

He will arrive in Manhattan with three years of eligibility remaining.
