Kansas State adds Serbian guard Andrej Kostic

Kansas State has gone across the pond for a basketball commit. Belgrade, Serbian guard Andrej Kostic has committed to K-State.
The Wildcats have gone to Europe a handful of times in the off-season to watch players from overseas and have had a few different targets. German wing Elias Rapieque is also a major target of Kansas State.
Like a handful of the past few recruitments, a lot of work from K-State was done in the dark for the guard. It is similar to the Wildcats adding Monmouth guard Abdi Bashir and UNC Wilmington forward Khamari McGriff. Kansas State likely beat Illinois in a head-to-head recruitment for Kostic.
Kostic is currently playing for KK Dynamic in Serbia, which plays in the Basketball League of Serbia, the top professional league in his home country. At just 18 years old in 39 games this season, the guard is averaging 14.3 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game. He is also shooting the ball at a high clip at 43 percent from the floor, 36.2 percent from three, and 77 percent from the free throw line.

The Serbian guard is also in good form with recent games of 30 points, eight assists and four rebounds, along with a game of 30 points, five rebounds and four assists. His season high in points came February 8 versus KK Joker Sombor, tallying 39 points, including making eight three-pointers, to go along with four assists and three rebounds.
Kostic also played in the Adidas Next Gen Tournament featuring international players in both 2022 and 2023. In seven games in the tournament over the two years, Kostic averaged 15.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.7 assists.
Overall, the guard is commitment No. 5 for Kansas State in the 2025 recruiting class. He joins a class of transfers Nate Johnson, Bashir and McGriff and high school prospect Exavier Wilson.
