Kansas State adds sharp-shooter Brendan Hausen
Kansas State has added another basketball transfer portal commitment. Former Villanova guard Brendan Hausen has committed to K-State.
The announcement for Hausen comes on the heels of an official visit to Kansas State over the weekend. The Texas native was the only official visitor at K-State this weekend after hosting guard CJ Jones and wing Baba Miller the previous weekend. Jones also committed to the Wildcats.
Hausen entered the transfer portal on April 10. Nebraska, UCONN, Texas A&M, and Georgetown were also interested in the sharp-shooting guard.
In his two seasons at Villanova, Hausen was a solid player. The Texas native played in 66 games over two seasons for the Wildcats averaging 13.4 minutes per game. He averaged 4.7 points per game in his two seasons at Villanova and averaged 1.33 made three-pointers per game. Shooting is a major tool the sophomore guard will add to Kansas State. Hausen led Villanova in both three-pointers made and three-point percentage this past season. In limited attempts, he also led the Wildcats in free-throw percentage at 86.7 percent.

Hausen had 11 games this season where he made three or more three-pointers. His season high came against Le Moyne knocking down six triples, but also made five against both Seton Hall and DePaul in Big East play. The sophomore was fifth on Villanova in offensive rating at 109.1 this season.
The Texas native was also very highly thought of as a high school recruit. According to the On3 Industry Ranking (a combination of all four recruiting services), Hausen was the No. 73 player in the 2022 recruiting class, No. 11 shooting guard, and No. 7 player in the state of Texas. Currently, the sophomore is the No. 133 ranked player in the transfer portal and the No. 22 shooting guard. He is the third addition for K-State in the transfer portal. The Texas native joins former Michigan guard Dug McDaniel and Jones.
Hausen will come to Kansas State with two years of eligibility remaining.
